The system has two main components that ensure comfort and precision:

Local Anesthesia: The eardrum is numbed using a revolutionary process called iontophoresis. A special numbing solution is applied via small earplugs, which use a low-level electrical charge to accelerate the delivery of the local anesthetic directly to the eardrum. This process is comfortable and child-friendly.
Automated Insertion: Once the ear is numb, the physician uses the specialized TULA Tube Delivery Device to create the small opening (myringotomy) and insert the ear tube in a single, automated click—in less than half a second per ear. This speed minimizes the time the patient needs to remain still.
